About Me
Hi, I’m Luke DeWitt. I am a software developer currently living in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada. I was born and raised just west of here, in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
I graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 2006 with a Bachelor in Computer Science with a major in Information Systems and a minor in Business in E-Commerce. I enjoyed my time at UNB and still like to keep in touch with a lot of my classmates who are currently all over the world doing what they do.
I am currently employed by TeamSpace Canada and work for their child company, theRedSpace.. Here, I work mainly in Flash, Flex and ActionScript, while also having a love for web development with PHP, CSS and AJAX technologies. I have also recently started dabbling in iPhone development.
As you can see from my portfolio, I have quite the diverse array of projects. I enjoy working on anything really, though being able to show my work off to friends and family is always something that makes my job a little more enjoyable. A lot of people talk about how cool certain websites are, and I love being someone who can say “well I’ve worked on that, or something just like it”.
I have also discovered quite the interest in the casual gaming niche recently, both programming them, and playing them. With how busy I keep myself, I love being able to escape to play a game for a few minutes. These casual games are also a great source of inspiration for me, as I am constantly coming up with ideas for my own games.
Outside of programming, because I can’t sit on the computer all day, every day, I am a huge sports nut. I love playing and watching just about every sport that can be named, with a particular obsession with baseball (go Blue Jays!). Another big hobby of mine is the fantasy sport area, where I participate in a number of leagues every season.
